The making of “Power of Love” (song by DVRKO, L3V3L Music) music video was an amazing process that emerged from a partnership we formed with LimeLight Animation Studio.
The music video was released in 2020 and took 3 months until the final animation. The idea was to show the power of love in a strange universe.
We had freedom hand to come up with the story and the characters. As a starting point, we used the song itself aswell as some elements of the DJ’s universe, like the DeLorean car. We also took inspiration from the animations in Cuphead to create the characters.
In the pictures below, we showed a bit of the initial process, the sketches in paper and the finishing process of the Concept Arts on Photoshop.
Once we defined the style of the music video, we moved on to the Storyboard.
One peculiarity of this project is that the music video was created and approved right in the Storyboard.
Keyframe step, when the main poses and character movements were drawn and determined in the scenes.
A team of four people produced the animation from start to finish, using the frame by frame technique.
The process of making this music video was a game changer for us, since it was the first time we produced with a team of this size.
